The interesting part when we landed was that we had to take a subway type train to get to the baggage pick up - customs seemed to go well and we didn't get lost - just followed the crowd and when we got our bags and went out the doors the guides were there waiting for us and took us to a bus which took all of us to the hotel. This is a picture out the bus window on the way to the hotel.
This is our hotel - it seems to be in a very built up area of Beijing. A very nice hotel - we are only staying here until Monday when we fly to the province and when we come back to Beijing we will be in a different hotel.
As you can see the room is very nice and has all the conveniences - the bed is very, very hard but not uncomfortable. When we did sleep, we slept very well. I woke up at 2:00pm and had trouble going back to sleep - Wes seemed to have an easier time sleeping than I did.
This is a picture of the bathroom - if you notice it is very nice but not very private - there is no door on the bathroom. We have had some interesting moments while trying to use it and have a little bit of privacy - we just set up some rules and played a CD on the computer while one of us is using it.
We took a short walk this morning after breakfast and this is one of the streets we walked down - we changed some money at the bank - that takes quite a while but the guard made sure we got our turn on time.
We are just going to see if we can find the Wu-Mart and grab some lunch - we are going to try and not have a nap this afternoon and try and go to bed by 7:00pm as we have to get a wake-up call for around 3:30am to make sure we are packed and ready with our bags downstairs by 5:30 for our flight out - they are going to provide us with a boxed breakfast - that's going to be interesting but we will also get a meal on the plane. Tomorrow is the big day - we will finally get to meet our Sarah for the first time.
